My Family - My World
I am the eldest son of Shri. K. J. S. NAIR and Smt. R. DEVI. I was born in Kollam district, Kerala State, INDIA.

My father recently retired from Kerala State Govt. service. Before this, he has served his motherland for nearly two decades in Indian Air Force before taking voluntary retirement in early 1980's to settle down in Kerala, near his parents. He is my all-time hero.

My mother is a home-maker. She is down to earth humble and very optimistic. Since she is extremely caring and loving and very particular about her kids, she is very strict. She believes: "Spare the rod and Spoil the child.."

My only sibling is my younger brother M. SASIDHARAN. He is currently working with an IT company in Bangalore. He has a Master's Degree in Computer Science.

I still cherish the golden moments of our childhood. We were the naughtiest kids in the block. We used to fight on literally everything - from silly things like one's hero (His Cricket Hero - Sachin Tendulkar and My Hero - Kapil Dev) to serious things like what subjects to pick at college. I really miss him. He is my best friend.

Me - A person who I am still trying to understand
Writing about oneself is a very tough mission. There are things that you want to write and there are matters you don't want to.

Though I have started the ball rolling, due to very busy schedule, the final draft should appear in some time.

I have a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science and 5+ years of IT experience. Was very lucky to get the right breaks really early in my professional career. Also was blessed with chance to visit and see lot of countries including Switzerland, France, United States, Sweden, Hong Kong and United Kingdom (London). They appear in the same cronlogical order of my visit. I would like to thank my parents and God Almighty for without their blessings and support, I would not have come this far. I humbly request their continuous shower of the choicest blessings.

My hobbies are sleeping, travelling, watching movies, lecturing (I have taught for a while), listening to music and reading (should correct it as refering, as I do not have enough patience to read books back-to-back). Since I had this problem, was very particular on attending all my lecture classes. I was very confident of getting good grades if I had attended the lecture. Thanks to my father who used to readout textbooks during my exams and my mother who was very particular about my studies. She used to get me bed coffee and call me early in the morning.

I consider myself a good listener and can grasp things very fast. This makes me an ideal candidate for gathering user requirement. Also like to do something on my laptop computer whenever I get time. Not a big fan of computer games or chatting. I am still working on my reading skills.

Me - A Professional View
During my initial days into computers and programming at the college, I was very much interested in System level programming. I read books on MSDOS Internals, Operating System BootStrap, FAT (File Allocation System) and Viruses. Perhaps these may be some books I have read apart from Mario Puzo's classics The GodFather and Omerta. C was my bread, Assembly language the butter and Turbo C, my bread-toaster. I had written several virus simulations in Assembly language and also developed code for a Password Protected Bootup under MSDOS. During the last stages of the graduation, I understood that Application Development was the field that had a broader chance of employment. Soon I was into this field.

I really enjoy programming especially in C/C++ and Java and love the challenge that every project brings..

In order to remain competetive, I grab every oppurtunity to understand, learn and pursue emerging technologies. I am currently working on J2EE Technologies on a variety of application servers including BEA Weblogic Server, JBoss, OC4J and Websphere.

Currently, my knowledge spans:
Operating System MS Windows NT/XP/2000, Sun Solaris 2.8, HP UNIX 11, AIX 4.3/5
Languages C, C++, Java, PRO*C (ESQL), PASCAL, COBOL, Assembly Language (80x86)
RDBMS Oracle 8.x/9.x, MS SQL Server 7.0/2000, Sybase SQL Server, Informix 7.x/9.x, IBM DB2 7/8
RAD Tools MS Visual Basic 5.0, MS Visual C++ 6.0
Technologies J2EE, COM/DCOM, CORBA, Workflow
Middleware Tools BEA Tuxedo 6.5/7.0, BEA /Q, Microsoft Transaction Server 1.0
CASE/Testing Tools Rational ClearCase, CA Endeavour, CVS, Rational Purify, Rational TeamTest

And my key areas of interest:
C, C++, ESQL, PRO*C, J2EE Technologies, BEA Tuxedo, BEA /Q, BEA Weblogic Server, JBoss, OC4J, Oracle, IBM DB2, Informix, CORBA, COM/DCOM

I'd love to hear from you!
